Saturday’s King and Queen of the Mountain competition at Skibowl has been canceled

Skibowl has canceled the 2014 King and Queen of the Mountain competition that was scheduled for Saturday, April 5.

Skibowl Special Events Coordinator Cara Fisher explain the cancellation in an e-mail sent to Shred Hood Friday morning at 9:15:

“Unfortunately due to the current snow conditions and the forecast for the next few days, we are not able to build and maintain the quality of the course for the King of the Mountain event. This event attracts the top skiers and riders on Mt. Hood, and the course would not meet the high expectations and standards of the competitors and Skibowl.  For this reason, it is with a heavy heart that we have chosen to cancel the event for this season.  The King of the Mountain will be back and better than ever for the 2014-15 season.”
