November 18, 2013 on Mount Hood: Snow turning to Rain

It’s still snowing and blowing on Mount Hood this morning, but it could turn to rain as a large storm approaches from the coast. Timberline picked up 18 inches of snow during the most recent storm cycle, and Meadows got more than a foot. Timberline plans to start operating seven days a week starting this coming Friday, November 22.

TEMPERATURE RANGE at 6,337 feet: 29-33

WIND: 20-30 mph from the Southwest, gusts to 45

SNOW BASE at 5250 feet at MEADOWS: 20 inches and rising

ANNUAL SNOWFALL at TIMBERLINE: 73 inches

FREEZING LEVEL: Rising from 6600 feet to 7600 feet

ROADS: Wet
