November 17, 2013 on Mount Hood: More Snow, and Huge Winds

The wind is howling on Mount Hood today, and there is a foot of fresh snow at 6,000 feet. Timberline is open, but only the beginner chair Bruno’s is running, with a few terrain park features set up there.

Another six inches is expected to fall today.

TEMPERATURE RANGE at 6,337 feet: 21-25

WIND: 36-40 mph from the West, gusts to 50

SNOW BASE at 5250 feet at MEADOWS: 16 inches and rising

ANNUAL SNOWFALL at TIMBERLINE: 69 inches and rising

FREEZING LEVEL: Around 3800 feet

ROADS: Slick and plowed, snow at the passes
