March 3 & 4: “Girl Pow” Women’s-Only Cat Skiing and Snowboarding Trip

Next Adventure, Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort, ON3P, and Marmot have teamed up to organize an all-female Girl Pow trip to Baker City and the Oregon Blue Mountains, with accommodations at the historic Geiser Hotel and a day of cat skiing and snowboarding at Anthony Lakes the first weekend in March.

Participants  will meet in Baker City Thursday evening, March 3rd for dinner, cocktails and a tour of the Geiser Hotel, a Victorian Hotel that first opened in 1899. The  cat trips start the following morning, with experienced guides, ski demos from ON3P, substantial swag bags from sponsors and lunch and snacks provided by Anthony Lakes. The surrounding terrain is ungroomed and challenging, so intermediate to expert skills are required.

This is Next Adventure’s first year organizing the Girl Pow trip, and staffers are hoping it will build into an annual tradition for the growing number of women who like to venture beyond the confines of lift-serviced terrain. ON3P, 4FRNT, Rome and Nikita have all released new boards with that demographic in mind, and Next Adventure employs quite a few talented female skiers and snowboarders who are looking forward to bringing the community together.

“This event really encompasses what Next Adventure is all about,” says content manager Amanda Becker. “We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to get outdoors and make those connections with nature and with other people that enjoy the same sports and activities. We’ve been a part of the Portland community for a long time and we want everyone to feel included and important.”

The cost of the Girl Pow trip is $350 and includes a value of over $1000 between swag bags, lodging, and cat trip passes. You can register here.
