Saturday, May 30: Hood 2 River Relay 2015

Mother Nature melted away the Alpine and Nordic skiing legs of this epic relay race from 6,000 feet to the Columbia River, but there will still be plenty of opportunities for thrills and exhaustion at Hood 2 River 2015.

The lack of snow has forced organizers to replace the skiing sections at Mt. Hood Meadows and Teacup Lakes with an uphill running challenge, followed by a seven-mile mostly downhill mountain bike challenge, a 27-mile road bike race, a 6.7-mile running race, and a 1.5-mile paddle in the Columbia River.

An after-race party at the Hood River waterfront will feature barbecue, vegetarian food from Tofurkey, beer from Full Sail Brewing, wine from Naked Winery and music by Tony Smiley, “the Loop Ninja”, taking the stage at 2 pm.

Racers can compete individually or with relay teams, with varying costs. More info is on the registration page here.
