November 8, 2013 on Mount Hood: Wet, Windy and Wild

It’s raining and blowing on the mountain today, with rain expected to turn to snow by 10 am at 6,000 feet. The rain has done a job on the snow base, but the freezing level is dropping and we should get some real accumulation today.

Temperature Range at 6,337 feet: 29-37

Wind: 16-22 mph from the South, gusts to 31

Snow Base at 5250 feet at Meadows: 8 inches

Annual snowfall at Timberline: 54 inches

Freezing Level: Falling from 7,500 feet to 5,200 feet

Roads: Wet and slick
