Randy Boverman captures the joy of a perfect powder day on Mount Hood

Portland-based photographer Randy Boverman caught the light and the snow just right in this sequence of photos from a sweet February powder day at Meadows with skiers Asit Rathod and Friedrich Gloekler.

Randy Boverman is a lifestyle photographer who specializes in stylized outdoor photo shoots for commercial clients. He is also a member of the North American Snowsports Journalists Association and recently returned from the annual NASJA convention in Utah, where he managed to sneak out and enjoy a LOT of fresh powder, judging from his jealousy-inducing Facebook photos.

Feast your eyes on these images Randy captured of Asit and Friedrich shredding some nice light powder, and let’s hope we get conditions like this soon.

The first two were shot in 3 Bowl:

Asit Rathod (in the yellow coat), was the subject of one of the most popular articles published on Shred Hood. He is a writer, skier and Mount Hood enthusiast who has shredded big mountains from Chamonix to Argentina and skied down from the summit of Hood many, many times.

The next few are from 4 Bowl:

Friedrich Gloekler (in the blue coat) is a lifelong Oregon skier. He first climbed Mount Hood with his brother Chris when he was just a small child and has been doing it ever since.

This last photo of Asit and Friederich riding together was shot off Vista Ridge.

A few days after Randy sent me some photos to post on Shred Hood I was enjoying the upper mountain under perfect blue skies when I got a text from Asit, inviting me to join him and Randy on an adventure. That gave me the opportunity to turn the camera on the photographer, and I got the shot below of Randy Boverman enjoying perfect corn snow off piste. It looks like he enjoys his workplace.
