On Saturday April 25th from 2 pm to 5 pm there will be a Mountain Strong benefit fundraiser for Oregon Health Science University’s Billion Dollar Challenge at Cascade Ski Club In Government Camp.

The goal of OHSU’s campaign is to raise a half billion dollars to be matched by Nike founder Phil Knight, adding a billion dollars to the fight against cancer. OHSU has reached 90% of the goal, $450 million.

The Mountain Strong event in Govy will be hosted by the Mt. Hood Museum and Cultural Center, Mount Hood skier, climber and real estate agent Dale Crockett and other Mt. Hood Cancer Warriors.

The festivities start at 2 pm Saturday, April 25 at the Cascade Ski Club and Lodge, 30510 E Blossom Trail, Government Camp, OR 97028 (the big lodge across the street from Charlie’s Mountain View Restaurant in the middle of Govy).

The event will feature live music by Bob Vole, and there will be drinks and appetizers.

People are encouraged to swing by on their way back from the cool Cat’s Meow Jamboree going on that weekend at Timberline, celebrating the classic Tucker Sno-Cats of Mount Hood’s past.

Donations will be accepted on behalf of the nonprofit Mountain Strong. To donate online click here. And for more info about the OHSU fundraiser click here.
