Hope on the Slopes 2015 at Skibowl has been canceled due to lack of snow

The popular annual fundraiser Hope on the Slopes has been canceled due to poor snow coverage.

Hope on the Slopes has been a tradition at Mt. Hood Skibowl for nine years, with a 24-hour vertical challenge and a strong spirit of camaraderie borne from fundraising to fight cancer, a torchlight parade down the mountain, and sleep deprivation. Last year’s torrential rainfall did not stop participants from skiing and snowboarding late into the night for a great cause.

This will be the first time in nine years that Hope on the Slopes will not happen at Skibowl.

Charlene Piercy, Executive Director of Hope on the Slopes/Ski & Ride for a Cure, is encouraging individuals and teams who had signed up for the event at Skibowl to consider traveling north for Hope on the Slopes at White Pass March 14. Registration and funds raised will be transferred over to White Pass for the event.

Hope on the Slopes at White Pass will be a 9-hour event instead of a 24-hour event.

Here is the schedule for March 14 at White Pass:

7:15am to 8:15am – Registration (Main Lodge)

8:30am – Opening Ceremonies (Outside of Main Lodge)

8:45am to 4:00pm – Vertical Tracking (Orbiter’s will be in place at the Great White, Basin and Couloir).

4:00pm to 5:45pm – Vertical Tracking continued on the Great White.  At this time, the Great White will be for HOTS participants only, last chair at 5:45 p.m.  Thank you White Pass for extending the hours of the Great White!

4:00pm to 5:30pm – Classic Rock Unplugged!

6:00pm to 7:00pm – HOTS Dinner

7:30pm – Closing Ceremonies
