The Backcountry Film Festival will make four stops in Oregon this month

The 10th annual Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival will be screening in Hood River, Portland, Eugene and Bend over the next few weeks with nine short features from the likes of Sweetgrass and Teton Gravity Research.

The festival will screen:

Wednesday, January 14 at Double Mountain Brewery in Hood River,

Thursday, January 15 at Mazamas Mountaineering Center in Portland,

Friday, January 16 at the Oakshire Brewery in Eugene and

Saturday, January 17 at the Volcanic Theater Pub in Bend.

Here is the schedule of films for the festival:

From the Road (21:00) Fischer Creative with the Dynafit team in Alaska.

Afterglow (11:35) Sweetgrass Production.

Backcountry Baker (5:15) Jeremy Lurgio “The story of Labrador retriever Baker and his owner as they pursue their love of mountains through backcountry skiing in Montana’s Bitterroot Mountains.”

Out on a Limb (6:44) T-bar Films presents “the story of Vasu who’s love for skiing and the backcountry overcomes all obstacles.”

95 to Infinity (3:30) Doglotion Media follows brothers Andy and Mike Traslin for 95 months of winter turns.

IRS Traverse (8:00) Luc Mehl “A fun and corky adventure through the Alaska Wilderness.”

Powder Pilgrimage (20:00) By Joey Howell

Sundog (5:15) Sturge Films in Patagonia.

Higher (20:00) Teton Gravity Research – The continuing journey of Jeremy Jones.

The Backcountry Festival will also be screening a couple times next month in Eastern Oregon: February 20th at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande and February 12th at the OK Theater in Enterprise.

All screenings will raise money for local organizations working on advocacy, snow safety, outdoor education and SnowSchool programs.
