Summer’s here, and it’s time to get those legs in shape for 2014-15. With that in mind, here is a bike race you might consider to get a good start on summer.
It’s called the Race for the Future, and it is presented by Camas Bike & Sport and Sunset Audi and held at the Washougal MX Park with race proceeds going to the Evergreen Washington Student Mountain Bike League.
There will be an approximately 5 mile per lap multiple lap course with a combination of flowy single track, service road climbs, high speed descents and a ripping part of the Motocross track itself if conditions are dry enough.
The venue is about 30 miles from downtown Portland and free camping is available on site next to the course in a designated area Friday night starting at 5pm.
Sponsors include Sunset Audi, Gorge Delights Just Fruit Bars, Endura Sports, Norco Bicycles, Pure Wellness Chiropractic, Camas Harvest and Camas Bike and Sport. The entry fee ($42 for adults and $25 for children with early bird discounts through May 15) will include a post-race meal provided by Camas Harvest.
