Groomers from all over North America traveled to Mount Hood this week for Ski Area Management’s Cutter’s Camp 2014.
Cutter’s Camp runs from May 12 to May 16 at Timberline, with on-hills demos and terrain building workshops.
The camp is also hosting break-out sessions on:

- Planning Your Park – Budget to Design
- Daily Maintenance & Safety Procedures
- Social Media for Parks
- Events & Competitions
- Rails, Boxes and other man-made fun
- Snow Science in the Park
Last year’s Cutter’s Camp at Timberline drew 70 park builders from 42 resorts. The twice-a-year gathering (every April at Mount Snow in Vermont and every May at Mount Hood in Oregon) explores the latest trends, technologies and techniques in terrain park design, management and promotion. It is organized by Ski Area Management Magazine (“the voice of the mountain resort industry”) and sponsored by the snowcat manufacturers PistenBully, Formatic and Prinoth, along with Burton, Black Strap face masks and optics, HKD Snowmakers, Smith Optics and Wells Fargo.
