Teams of do-it-yourself bobsled maniacs will rip it through the slush in their home-made contraptions for the 2014 Red Bull Schlittentag at Skibowl March 29.

Last year’s Schlittentag (German for Sledding Day) featured a team of dudes on a high-speed leather couch, former Olympian Petr Kakes and his buddies in a frighteningly bullet sled, the Suicide Sliders, and all sorts of general mayhem.

Three-person teams can register their contraptions (450 pounds or less, please) at redbullschlittentag.com. 

The rules expressly forbid engines, batteries, pyrotechnics and the launching of riders or anything else while the sled is in motion. Helmets are required.
