Timberline makes Freeskier’s Top 10 Terrain Parks list

Breckenridge, Park City, Aspen/Snowmass, Keystone, Mammoth, Whistler Blackcomb and… Timberline.

Freeskier Magazine has rated Timberline’s terrain parks seventh best in North America, just behind Whistler and ahead of Northstar-at-Tahoe.

The rankings appeared in a recent magazine article that credited resorts with using “improvements in technology and technique” and “an ever-growing interest in building unique, creative park features” to create “bigger, better and safer playgrounds.”

Freeskier ranked Timberline right up there with the best of the best for its excellent features and super-long season. Here’s what the editors had to say about Timberline Freestyle:

“The parks, packed with awesome jibs and mid-sized jumps, are situated down low in the early season, and as the snow melts at lower elevations, the features are moved up the hill, ultimately settling on the Palmer Snowfield—where you can shred most of the summer.”

Timberline Parks Manager Brian Stanford and his hard-working crew build their own rails, tweak their designs with creativity, and safety-test everything relentlessly.

Timberline becomes a free-ride destination each spring when Park City and Mammoth close for the season and diehards hit the road in search of someplace to shred. The level of talent on Paintbrush and Conway in spring can be downright jaw-dropping.

Here’s a slideshow of some pics I shot from the side of Paintbrush and from the Stormin Norman Express last season:
