Even the best boarder in the world is helpless in an avalanche

Xavier de Le Rue is one of the best big mountain snowboarders in the world, if not the best. He is also very fortunate to be alive after getting buried by an avalanche in 2008. This video shows how it happened and how he survived, and it serves as a reminder that riding fresh powder in the steeps is inherently dangerous. Know what you’re doing, carry the right gear, and go with a buddy.
