Friday night at the Clinton Street Theater: A Way We Go, Yomerica! and Backcountry Rail Jam 2013

The new snowboarding production from Isenseven will screen at Portland’s Clinton Street Theater tonight along with two high-energy, locally made films. Proceeds will benefit the SOS youth outreach nonprofit.

Away We Go follows Alex Tank, DBK, Stephan Maurer, Wojtek Pawlusiak and Ludde Lejkner as they rip it through tight tree lines, wide-open powder fields and urban landscapes.

Here’s a preview of what to expect:

Doors open at 7:30. Cost is five bucks at the door, or free if you bring a pair of decent goggles to donate to SOS Outreach.

SOS Outreach is a non-profit that partners with resorts, agencies, foundations, companies and snowboarders to create a mountain adventure-based program for at-risk youth.

Isenseven sells videos, clothing and tickers at isenseven.tv and sponsors a team of 18 riders.

Also screening at the Clinton tonight are two locally produced snowboarding films: Yomerica! by Portland-based Yobeat and Backcountry Rail Jam 2013.

Yomerica! is a rocking portrayal of the global shred scene from a community perspective. Here’s how Yobeat described the film in launching the trailer earlier this year: “We opened the flood gates to the shred world and accepted submissions from anyone and everyone. This is our version of the 2012/13 season, with footage from all over the globe.”

Here’s a one-minute teaser of Yomerica to whet your appetite:

Backcountry Rail Jam 2013 is a short film produced by Mount Hood’s own Stephen Garretson (the guy you see all over the mountain boarding with a huge pack full of video equipment on his back). The film is called From Dusk to Dawn: Backcountry Rail Jam 2013, and it follows a big crew of boarders as they hike up Hood in bikini weather and throw down all sorts of high-flying tricks.

Here is a slideshow courtesy of Stephen Garretson documenting the good times had while producing Backcountry Rail Jam 2013 on Mount Hood:
