Mt. Hood Meadows will wrap up an excellent winter season on Saturday, May 14 with music, beer and some final turns in the corn.

Lifts are scheduled to run from 9 to 2, with a free concert beginning at 11. Lift tickets are discounted to $49 for adults and $20 for juniors (age 7 – 14) and seniors (65 and older). The free concert will be staged under a performance tent and presented regardless of the weather, with the “Greenneck Daredevils” and “Tap Water”, presented by Double Mountain Brewery. 

The Season Ending Festival will be held in the base area. Since it’s beyond April 30, Sno-Park permits are no longer required.

Mt. Hood Meadows accumulated 478 inches of snow at the 5400 foot level since opening in November, well above the 430 inch average, and two-and-a-half times the amount it received last season. Executive Director of Communications Dave Tragethon said, “We were very pleased to see outdoor enthusiasts follow the snow to Mt. Hood Meadows this season. We’re even more excited about the La Nina forecast for 2016/17 and if advance sales of season passes are an indication, so are our passholders!”

La Nina generally brings cooler and wetter conditions to the Northwest, meaning a deeper and more consistent snowpack to Mt. Hood.

Meanwhile, over on the south side of the mountain, the spring season continues at Timberline with freestyle features, huge jumps, large climbing parties and parking lot shenanigans. The parking lots filled up last Saturday for a summer-like day where huge crowds managed to make it up to the summit, including a pack of kids 11 years old and under who conquered the Pearly Gates to earn that beautiful view from up top on a perfect blue sky day.
