Noble Spirit to Play at the Clinton Friday Night

A powerful documentary about skiing legend Fred Noble will screen at the Clinton Street Theater in Portland Friday, Sept. 25 as part of the Oregon Independent Film Festival.

The Noble Spirit examines the life and times of Fred Noble, the skier, philanthropist and Mount Hood legend who died on May 1, 2014 after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS.

Born and raised in Portland, Noble traveled the world as a skier and adventurer, starred in Warren Miller films, and pioneered helicopter skiing in British Columbia, paragliding in the Cascades and windsurfing in the Columbia River Gorge. He dedicated himself to battling ALS since being diagnosed with the incurable disease in 2010, and raised over $480,000 for the cause through Ski to Defeat ALS.

The film starts at 8 pm Friday night at the Clinton Street Theater, 2522 SE Clinton Street Portland, OR 97202. Admission is $10.
