October 2-3: Snow Sports Swap to raise money for Mt. Hood Ski Patrol

Dust off your boards and your credit cards, because winter is on the way and a ski and snowboard swap to benefit the all-volunteer Mt. Hood Ski Patrol will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds the weekend of October 2-3.

Shops and individuals will be selling a wide variety of new, demoed and used gear, along with all sorts of apparel and accessories. There will be door prizes.

Proceeds from the swap will go to Mt. Hood Ski Patrol, the longest-running all-volunteer ski patrol in the west and second oldest in the nation, with about 300 volunteer patrollers who help out the resorts on weekends and holidays and another 120 mountain hosts who provide guest services at Skibowl and Timberline. For more information about what the patrol does and how to try out and join this valuable Mount Hood institution, check out mthoodskipatrol.org.
