Some of the tastiest brewskis of the Northwest will be on tap for the sampling at this year’s Winter Brew Fest, Saturday, Dec. 20 at Mt. Hood Meadows.
The event will take place whether or not there is snow on the slopes to run lifts. The theme this year is pineapples and how much we hate them, since the Pineapple Express has decimated our early-season mountain snow enjoyment.
There will be a pineapple-catapult toss to raise spirits and raise funds for the Northwest Avalanche Center. Meadows spokesman Dave Tragethon says, “We want to throw this Pineapple Express system as far away from Mt. Hood as possible, so we’ve created some catapults to launch pineapples Saturday. We’ll have some fun prizes for those willing to put $10 down to launch a Pineapple. The farther we can toss those pineapples the happier we will be.”
There also will be 30 flavors of beer to sample, with offerings from Widmer, Full Sail, Double Mountain, Everybody’s Brewing, Laurelwood, Hopworks, Backwoods, HR Ciderworks, and Naked Winery.
The $14 price of admission gets you entrance to the Brew Fest at the Vertical Cocina Restaurant, entertainment, a glass mug and 4 drink coupons. Additional drink coupons may be purchased for $1 each.
Keegan Smith and The Fam will be playing music from 1-5 pm on Saturday.
