The nation’s top up-and-coming slopestyle and halfpipe specialists will be shredding Mt. Hood Meadows March 9-13 for the fourth and final stop of the 2015 US Revolution Tour.

Meadows will join Colorado’s Copper Mountain, Pennsylvania’s Seven Springs, and California’s Mammoth Mountain in hosting this season’s Revolution Tour. The halfpipe competition will happen at the Meadows Superpipe, while the slopestyle will take place at the new Star Park off Shooting Star Ridge.

The roster of athletes competing in this year’s Revolution Tour has not yet been announced, but past stars have included 2014 Olympic Champions Sage Kotsenburg, Maddie Bowman and Kaitlyn Farrington. The Revolution Tour started in 2003 to develop the sport by limiting entries to promising young riders early in their careers.

Tom Scully, Director of Mountain Operations for Mt. Hood Meadows, said Meadows is thrilled to host the event. “The opportunity to bring this event back to Meadows continues with our history of providing exciting venues that help advance the sport and athletes,” he said. “This year we will build on that tradition using our new Star Park as the slopestyle venue that will showcase our terrain parks and the incredible backdrop of Mt. Hood.”

Revolution Tour events also sometimes include Big Air and Snowboard/Ski Cross Races, but the competitions at Meadows will focus solely on slopestyle and halfpipe.

Meadows has hosted plenty of freestyle events in the past, including a lively Snakes and Hammers event for top snowboarders in April of 2013.

The Snakes & Hammers competition mixed speed, jibs and jumps, and it was a great show. The one point of contention for some riders involved inverted aerials. The announcers and organizers announced several times that no inverts were allowed – but several competitors blew off the warning and were disqualified for pulling
