Familiar with the McMenamins Passport that gets you all sorts of deals on food, drinks, movies and shows?
Local snow sports clubs are working on a similar passport concept, to connect Mount Hood regulars with restaurants, shops and other businesses on and around the mountain.
The new Mt. Hood Passport is scheduled to be printed in December and sold to ski club members and PACRAT racers for the 2014-15 season. Businesses that purchase advertising space in the passport can insert their logos and up to four offers to bring in new customers.
Passport holders will get a stamp each time they frequent one of the participating businesses and show their passports. There will be prizes awarded at the end of the season for the people who gather the most stamps.
This could be a good way to connect the skiing and snowboarding community of Mount Hood with the many independent businesses that rely on them, including places to buy or rent skis and snowboards, places to stay and places to eat and drink after a day on the slopes.
The Mt. Hood Passport has been endorsed by the Northwest Ski Club Council and PACRAT Racing.
Advertising rates for participating businesses range from $100 to $250 depending on placement and membership status. Contact Barbara Pressentin for more information.
