The 2013 Portland Alpine Festival will celebrate mountains and ice with films, food and climbing clinics in Portland November 11-16.

Films scheduled for screening during the festival include Alaskan First Ascents and High Ground, a documentary about 11 veterans who set off to the Himalayas for post-war therapy.

Clinics will delve into techniques and strategies for alpine climbing and specifically ice climbing. There will be an Ice Festival Competition at the Portland Rock Gym on Saturday, November 16.
