No better way to get stoked for 2013-14 than to catch Warren Miller’s latest production, and this year you will have two chances to catch your Ticket to Ride.
Warren Miller’s 64th film will screen Friday, Oct. 25 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in downtown Portland, and then on Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Aladdin Theater on the east side.
There will be six screenings of Ticket to Ride across Oregon, in Salem, Corvallis, Eugene and Bend as well as Portland. Check out the details and buy your tickets in advance here.
Ticket to Ride is the latest production from the man who’s been exploring mountains in winter and the creativity they inspire since 1949. Warren Millier, who turns 89 on Oct. 15, is no longer involved in the day-to-day direction of the films that bear his name. But his legacy only grows as new athletes and adventurers continue to expand boundaries in mind-boggling ways.
Ticket to Ride stars super-shredders Seth Wescott, Julia Mancuso, Rob Kingwill, Ted Ligety, avalanche survivor Elyse Saugstad and the Northwest’s own Andy Mahre. The film was shot in the mountains of Niseko, Japan (“powder capital of the world”), Greenland, Iceland, Montana, Norway and Valdez, Alaska, among other locations.
